Institute for New Economic Thinking

Feminist Economics

BRIEF

To carry out post-production for a lecture course for a general audience — that has led to a Webby Nomination and Five Telly Awards

This is one of several courses we have worked on for the Institute for New Economic Thinking – a think tank based in New York.

APPROACH

We worked with an existing course and edited it down to the best format for online learning. We used our expertise in production and learning design to make editorial decisions on cuts, animations, and the use of archive footage. Together with the team at INET, we turned the courses into high-end productions that compete with the best-funded online learning courses in the world.

IMPACT

Feminist Economics has been nominated for and won numerous awards, including Best Educational Series and Best Documentary Series.

This series is one of several educational projects we have worked on with INET. The courses have had a large reach and are watched all over the world, including in China.

“We have hired Econ Films (now Vensight Learn) for many years, with the team providing production and post-production services on some of our flagship lecture series. We trusted Econ Films to make editorial and educational decisions to shorten the lectures and add graphics and animations to bring key points to life. The lecture series Feminist Economics and Venture Capital in the 21st Century exceeded expectations. On one series alone, compared to a KPI target of 200,000 views in the first year, the series has received more than 1,000,000 views and counting – and this doesn’t include the views in China which we are told are in the hundreds of thousands.”
