McGraw Hill Education

"The team went beyond being a production vendor to be a true partner. Their expertise in helping us create high-quality videos for the latest version of our course is much appreciated!"

BRIEF

To create a series of short animations to deliver the key course content for the online version of McGraw Hill’s Economics textbook.

McGraw Hill is one of the largest publishers of educational books in the world. We were commissioned to create films for the second edition of their online-only textbook, aimed at undergraduates.

This required not only understanding the content and audience, but also matching the existing style of the first edition of the textbook.

APPROACH

Due to COVID-19, the course had to be fully animated, and produced entirely remotely. An animation style was agreed that would match the previous edition of the textbook. Our dedicated project management team devised a whole new workflow set up to ensure delivery within the timeframe.

The videos were paced evenly and designed to be sped up as students improve their understanding. Other pedagogical considerations include: text on screen, extensive graphs, animated case studies. As is often the case with international projects, the films were also to be delivered in Spanish, complete with transcriptions and subtitles.
